Catchy = Stupid?

Music is very important for me. I don't consider myself and expert, but it's very rare for me to have no music around me. It helps me focus and I definitely work better when plugged to my portable.

Admittedly, the lyrics or message don't concern me most of the time, since I only want music to go through loads of pending work or to pass time. So it's not a surprise that I'm listening to music in many languages, even if I've studied some of them. (English included.)

However, sometimes I do get curious about certain songs and I start paying attention to the lyrics—if I understand enough of the language in question—or I go get a translation. And more times than not, I've gone WTF at their idiocy or perviness. xD

Here's a few examples of that, most ot them taken from my current playlist... (But none by Momusu, because I CANNOT pick just a few.)


AKB48 ~ AKB48
At first, all I got was the chorus. Reading Stage48's translation made me facepalm, but it was too late for me to give this up. *whistles*

Émilie Simon ~ I Wanna Be Your Dog
Music hooked me in, but lyrics only made me think of BDSM. xD Then again, maybe it was my subconscience telling me I had to like this... :P *ponders*

Groove Armada ~ I See You Baby
If not for the video, this song would make no sense at all.

Gyaruru ~ Boom Boom Meccha Maccho!
If this isn't a bad song, then I don't know what it IS. :P Still, it infiltrated my playlist because it's catchy as feck! And don't miss this, btw. It's good for lulz.

Ilona Mitrecey ~ Un Monde Parfait
When I actually paid attention to the lyrics, I felt retarded. *cracks up* Damned catchy song, I just cannot help bobbing my head everytime I listen to it! º\>_<

Lords of Acid ~ I Must Increase My Bust
I got to know about this song by mere accident, and I was on the verge of ROFLing like mad over it. Kiddies should refrain from singing this in front of adults; everybody else just enjoy the damn thing! >.>

Yes, I'm repeating artists... Just because I don't think I'll ever get tired of this song. :) Let's just pretend remember it IS about a cat and nothing else, ok? That's all kiddies need to know, anyway. :3

Sergey Lazarev ~ TV or Radio
If I didn't like him so much, I'd probably wish him a horrible death because of this— song. xD (Nah!)

SNSD ~ Gee
I like this because of its easy, catchy tune, but my eyes almost bled after reading the translation. So, now I'm trying to forget it. XD

Oh, the infamous vibrator song! xD I thought people were making this up, but I was cracking up badly when I realized they weren't so wrong in their interpretation of the lyrics. :P But, as most of things related to these girls, the innuendos have been denied. ¬_¬" Still, this is the perfect example of catchy but pervy foreign song. *thumbs up*

Whigfield ~ Saturday Night
Sometimes I wish my English would have never improved. Then again, I'd probably miss all the fun~ *scoffs*

Wonder Girls ~ Nobody
Catchy as feck, dammit! I wonder if anyone besides Korean fans has tried counting the "nobodies"? :s

Yelle ~ À Cause des Garçons
Actually, I like TEPR version of this better. Probably because it's a different kind of idiotic. *rolls eyes* Still, the video's trippy. ;)
